Thomas Cook Airlines
Has anyone flown with Thomas Cook to Orlando? And if so what was it like.

Re: Thomas Cook Airlines
I'd willingly pay a premium for a flight where every occupant of the plane was eligible to vote.

Screaming kids are the bane of modern air travel - a brat-free trip would be worth every penny.

Re: Thomas Cook Airlines
Worst carrier to US for me was Travel City Direct.... old and I mean old 747's... no entertainment... torn seats.... and a leaky air conditioning system that dripped on my head ... also had a bloke faint and land on my lap on the way home... although not sure I can blame the Airline for that....

Best was probably Freddie Laker when he began trading again in the 90's... great planes they were... superb leather recliners... all in economy ... oh he only lasted a year again... but it was fun while it lasted

Thanks all.

I live in the US, but my flights back home are always with Delta/Virgin, the company pays for these.
We are travelling down to Orlando and spending time with Tom/Girlfriend and Tomsister/Boyfriend, so don't want to spend Thousands.

Re: Thomas Cook Airlines
Been 3 times to Orlando with the family. Just used the cheapest each time. Thomas Cook was better than Virgin & BA, with BA the worst.

Thomas Cook was good service with the newest plane which had wider seats and better leg room than the others. Yes lots of kids on there but as expected.

As for food & entertainment, not much difference between the 3.

Last time used BA - very cheap, less than £2.5K in August for family of 5 including car hire but service was poor including taking over an hour to get a gate after landing in Orlando, they aren't considered high priority out there at all.

If the price is right I'd recommend Thomas Cook.

Strange that as always had a much better experience on Delta... granted their stewardess are a nit more MILF'y but found them far more professional than VA... also thought they had better planes than the ageing leaky 747's you used to get with VA... going VA this year so giving them another try (mainly as they was the cheapest at the time)... read that they have changed from the old 747's on the route to brand new Dreamliners so should be better a experience.... Oh and never flown Thomas Cook... but I think they have planes that land and take off and take passengers

Re: Thomas Cook Airlines
I did a while ago. The plane took off and flew all the way to the USA, then I got off and had a holiday, then 2 weeks later they only went and got another plane for me to get on and fly home. True story.

I flew to Brazil with them , seat , food and loads of free booze what’s not to like , didn’t feel cramped and I’m 6 5’

Last few holidays have all been on dreamliners , paid the extra 20/30 for extra legroom again no complaints.

Re: Thomas Cook Airlines
If booking with Virgin/Delta (assuming it's not a direct booking) try to get a Virgin plane, much better than the ageing Delta fleet.

Flown to the US with both of them over the last three years and there's no comparison. Also, every single stewardess on Delta all looked like a haggard pub stripper who had recently been released from a detox programme.

Re: Thomas Cook Airlines
They use planes with limited leg room on short haul but the transatlantic flights are the same as you'd get with BA Virgin or Air France

Re: Thomas Cook Airlines
OK for short haul but wouldn't touch them for transatlantic. Flown Virgin, American, Delta, Air Canada and BA long haul - American was the best IMHO

Thanks. I think I will book with Delta, was trying to save a bit of money.

Re: Thomas Cook Airlines
Not good. Did that journey with them a few years ago. Long Haul Ryanair. Spend a bit more and go Virgin or Delta (same firm now)

Arsene - apparently that's not enough, you need to have your ego massaged as well.

I went to Cuba with Thomas Cook. It was a big plane and had seats, and in flight entertainment. When it landed we got off. Same thing coming back.

It's an aeroplane that flies to Orlando.

What do you want from it?

Hardly any space. Mediocre in all ways. But if you want better you'll need to pay more.

Flew to Cyprus on Thomas Cook Airlines, small cramped plane, I have travelled a lot and one of my worst flights ever, would not use them again given the choice.
